Amelia’s Periwinkle Paradise Nursery

Description

A sweet and feminine periwinkle nursery for our little girl! Purple was my first choice of color for her nursery, with gold and pink accent colors. This room is truly a safe haven at three in the morning!

Design Inspiration

Thinking I was going to be recovering the rocking chair I found on Craigslist, I picked out a beautiful floral fabric. However, after seeing the rocking chair was in mint condition, I decided to use the fabric as curtains instead. It was the perfect mix of purple and pink!

Decorating Style

I would classify my style as contemporary eclectic. I love a clean look to a room but with pops of color and a few whimsical touches! Sarah Richardson is definitely my favorite designer!

Favorite Items

My favorite item in her nursery is definitely the dresser. My husband did such a great job refinishing it. The flamingo artwork is a close second.

Advice

Many great finds can be found at Home Goods and on Craigslist. But it is definitely ok to splurge on a few statement pieces that will make the room. Find one piece that you love and build the room around it. Just be sure not to go overboard with a theme. I love flamingos but didn't want to dedicate every inch of her nursery to it. Subtle splashes make the most impact!
