an all white baby shower celebrating the innocence and purity of a new baby.
the mama to be's love of crisp white decor, the innocence and purity that white symbolizes.
crisp and modern
an all white baby shower, we used all white serving dishes. had white hydrangeas for centerpieces. the menu was fresh, local foods all bought from the farmers market that morning. we had a fresh french baguette, an olive and garlic loaf, fresh cheeses, chilled strawberry soup, fresh salad with fruits and veggies, a homemade vingarette dressing served from an old wine bottle. virgin mojitoes, white wine, cucumber water and coconut cupcakes and coconut ice cream for dessert. tried to keep the menu very chic and fresh to match the modern chic decor. favors were handmade bars of organic soap in lavendar and coconut scents and doubled as placecards. the original idea came from Martha Stewart's baby shower ideas. I put diapers in each glass at the table and the guests wrote down advice or tips for the mother to be to read when she used the diapers later on.
I loved the white center pieces with hydrangeas. the centerpieces were actually candleholders from west elm, but I placed drinking glasses in them to hold water for the flowers.
less is more, keep it very simple. using only one color really helps keep the decor clean and flow.
