Airplane/Travel Birthday Party

Description

I decided to use an airplane/travel theme for my son's second birthday party.  I wanted to use a more vintage airplane style so I chose the color scheme of red, sky blue, and different shades of brown.

Design Inspiration

We took our son to Disney World when he was 18 months old.  We flew from Memphis to Orlando and ever since our flight he has been OBSESSED with airplanes.  So when it came time to pick a theme for his party, it was a no-brainer.

Decorating Style

My decorating style in vintage with a bit of a whimsical twist.  I love to go to flea markets and find the perfect pieces to fit his parties.

Project Details

All of the banners, signs, invitations, water bottle labels, favor tags etc were made by Mary Williams, a local graphic designer in Jonesboro.  She is amazing.  I can tell her exactly what I want and she creates it.

The cloud backdrop is a roll of fadeless paper (mostly used for bulletin boards and things of that nature).  I ordered off of Amazon.

The map fabric tablecloth and burlap fabric were purchased at Hobby Lobby

Vintage suitcases are flea market finds

Vintage inspired travel stickers were also found on amazon

Photo props were so fun.  I found these on etsy.  So easy to print and cut out and glue to a dowel rod.

Favorite Items

I have two favorite things.

My first was the amazing cake by a local baker, cakes by Mandy.  She is amazing.

My other favorite thing was the photo booth.  Everyone had so much fun with.  Putting the props on and taking silly pictures.

Advice

Take your time, allow yourself plenty of time to plan.  Don't stress about the planning, just have fun with it!
