Airplane Toddler Room

Airplane room for an active 2-year old.

Design Inspiration

I wanted to carry over the vintage airplane theme from Gabriel's nursery, but update the theme to last for a few more years and add some whimsical touches. I also tried to create a space that is fun to play in with storage for toys, since the room needs to double as a playroom. My paint and furniture choices needed to have the potential to last longer than the airplane theme.

Decorating Style

Traditional with vintage touches.

Favorite Items

My favorite item in the room is the tent my husband built. I was inspired by memories of building forts out of blankets at my grandmother's house. The sheet and handmade quilt covering the tent actually came from her home.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with all the airplane accessories and bedding out there. But it is more important to make the room personal to your family.

Interesting airplane mobile. But my real favorite has got to be that DIY tent. I guess for a lot of people, their wonderful childhood memories always included making makeshift tents with the folks.
