Ahoy it’s a boy!

Description

With the help of my husband and a friend we planned my nautical themed baby shower to celebrate our second son who is expected to come this April. I stumped on a few nautical themed parties while searching for baby shower ideas online. I loved almost everything I saw, hence why we chose this theme.

Design Inspiration

I didn't want to stick with just colors for a theme. The nautical idea was perfect. There is so much that can be done with it. So many cute items online and in stores that are not hard to find. I loved the combo of navy blue, stripes, white, red, sea shells, light houses, boats, rope, etc!

Decorating Style

Classy, simple, clean

Project Details

Runners: amazon.com

Shells/Lighthouse: Marshalls

Throw pillow: Macy's

Banners: Esty.com

Red seat/table: Ikea

Tin cans: orientaltrading.com

Boats, favor bags: beau-coup.com

Invites: storkie.com

Guestbook: Part City (I added the red ropes myself)

Favorite Items

By far the cake and the red sofa were my favorite! I already had the sofa at home and it gave it that perfect pop of red I needed.

Advice

There are many items out there for nautical parties. Try to stick to simple items, stripes, pops of red, and add flowers so that it won't become to "beachy" or "fourth of July-ish". Don't go crazy using all the nautical themed items that can be found online!

Wow, did you do this on your own or did you hire someone? If so, what is the name of the person or company you worked with? Would you be able to list the contact information as I am planning a party myself and could sure use the help. Thanks.

That's a really adorable cake! And the nautical theme is just appropriate. Good luck on the delivery.
