Addelyn’s Rainbow Birthday

Description

Since our sweet Addelyn has to share her birthday with the holiday season we wanted a theme that was still colorful and festive but not CHRISTMAS! I know that rainbow parties are all the craze these days but I figured a first birthday with a color theme would be the most appropriate. We had tons of fun with it.

Design Inspiration

Rainbow, rainbow, and more rainbows.

Decorating Style

My personal decorating style is modern, black and white with pops of color, stripes, chevron, suzani, mercury glass..it goes on and on.

Project Details

To make the cake, I simply bought two boxes of white Betty Crocker cake. I prepared the mix and then separated evenly in to six bowls and added the food dye. Each frosting layer was also colored. I bought the straws and favor bags from cupcakesocial.com The apothecary jars came from Michaels. I made the banner out of ribbon and scrap book paper All of the streamers and balloons came from Party City. We blew them up ourselves and hung them upside down! The rainbow tutu is from Etsy!

Favorite Items

I loved the autograph frame with her birthday picture and the colored sharpies people used to leave comments. It gave the party a personal touch that will have forever.

Advice

It's so hard to go wrong with rainbows!

That multi-colored tutu on the high chai is really pretty. And your party looks really fun and colorful. I bet little Addelyn had such a blast!

Nothing beats a very colorful party for one-year-olds. Doesn't really matter how you do it, as long as it's colorful, it is automatically fun and exciting and beautiful ;-)
