Thrift shops and garage sales are a budget's best friend when decorating. Also, think about updating items you already have in your house.
Favorite Items
Probably the re-finished dresser. I was scared to use the bold color at first but am so glad I took the plunge. It adds so much fun to the room without overtaking it--like painting the walls might have done.
Advice
Think neutral background and fun, meaningful accents. Everything doesn't have to match perfectly but having a color scheme can help guide you when scouring the endless and cluttered thrift store shelves.
