When I was pregnant one of the most exciting things for me was getting to design a nursery! It’s the first nursery I designed and was excited for it to be my own. The nursery was as much for me as for the baby so I wanted it to be pretty and sweet, but not overly girly. I went with a relatively sophisticated shade of taupe or mauve that looks gray with a bit of pink on the walls and ceiling. Painting the ceiling made the room feel taller and at the same time cozy and calming. All the furniture I selected was gender neutral and timeless. Finally, I felt the need for a bolder, deeper color to balance out all the pinkish tones so it didn’t get too girly or saccharine. I found this modern floral pattern on a dark blue background that was the perfect accent to tie the whole space together.
I’m so happy with how it came together, and I love spending time in this room with my Little One!
If you’d like to see more I blogged about all the details of pulling it together as part of a design challenge if you want to check out it out here: http://eggshellhome.com/2017/11/15/my-baby-girls-neutral-nursery-reveal-orc-week-7/
