For a few years I had a vision of designing a room with a sky mural as the accent wall. When I found out we were expecting a baby girl I was so excited to bring my serene cloud nursery idea to life. We used blacks and grays in our son's nursery so it was fun for me to incorporate more color into this room including dusty pinks and mint greens.
Brent hand painted the gorgeous sky mural for me. We always have the motto, don't be afraid to tackle DIY projects in the nursery. We saved a lot of money by making over several pieces from our son's nursery that he was no longer using to fit the aesthetic of this room. We cut an existing rug we had into a cloud shape and made over his changing table to match the crib in our daughters nursery. We also reupholstered an old accent chair with a pretty mint colored linen fabric and replaced the legs with a rocking chair base.
We made all the bird art in this room including the watercolor print, the lyrics print and the wooden birds above the changing table. This room is girly, whimsical and calming and it makes me so happy to be able to rock our daughter in this room. Learn more about the DIY projects we made for this room.
