When we found out we were having a baby boy, I knew I wanted to incorporate a subtle guitar theme with the chevron pattern. And I wanted to keep the color pattern some what muted and decided on white, gray, and aqua.
Pinterest and Project Nursery were my biggest sources of inspiration. I started "pinning" ideas and soon had a vision and a plan for our baby's room.
Wall decal- DIY with paint
Mobile- DYI project
Crib Bedding- babybedding.com
Glider chair- The chair itself was given to us by a friend and we spray painted it aqua and then recovered the cushions with a shower curtain from Target.
Boppy Pillow cover- ETSY
Guitar painted artwork- DIY
Curtains- They are actually shower curtains from Kohls.com
Bulletin Board- DIY- take an old frame, spray paint, and chicken wire
Dresser- Land of Nod
Lamp- Target but spray painted aqua.
Changing pad cover- ETSY
Framed prints- a gift from one of my very talented friends who is a graphic designer. Frames are "Ribba" from Ikea
Toy Bucket- Walmart
Rug- Urban Outfitters
The glider chair- the whole project cost about $40. I had such a hard time deciding whether we could justify spending money on a brand new glider chair...and even if we did...what kind to buy. But when a friend offered her glider for free- I knew we could give it a "overhaul" and make it a perfect match in the room.
Start planning early and buy items month by month so you are not overwhelmed with the cost. Invest in quality pieces that you want to last for years. We spent the most money on the dresser and I am so glad we did! And get family members involved in projects as it makes the finished projects that more special!
