A Multi-Functional Nursery that Doubles as a Guest Bedroom

Description

A nursery and our guest room.

Design Inspiration

I haven't seen many multi-functional nurseries (that double as a guest room or office) on this site so I thought I'd post ours.  Our second daughter's nursery also doubles as our guest bedroom.  The room is rather small, so we had to be creative to fit a queen sized bed, a crib and changing table in there.

The crib also doubles as a dresser and we had storage built in the closet for her extra clothes.

Color inspiration came from the Bla-Bla owl doll and bedding I found.

Decorating Style

Modern, classic, ecletic

Project Details

Paint:  Pumice by Restoration Hardware

Rug: IKEA

Storage boxes: Target

Changing table: IKEA Expedit

The frames were DIYed using IKEA's Ribba frames, craft paper and her birth announcement.

Crib bedding and drapes:  custom.

Favorite Items

Built-in bookshelves and the framed art.

Advice

Multi-purpose rooms/nurseries can be tough to decorate.  We couldn't fit a glider or chair in here and didn't want it to be too "baby-ish" when our guests came, but in the end it still turned out to be playful and fun space for our little girl.

I love this room, especially the crib with drawers. Where did you find it?

Thank you!  The crib bedding and drapes were made from a duvet set that I found at Marshalls.  I had one side of the duvet made into the drapes and the other side made into the crib sheet.  The set came with 2 shams which I put  on the bed.   I'm not sure of the brand, unfortunately - I threw away the packaging last month when we were cleaning out our garage.

The storage ottomans are from Target.

The frames over the crib are from Target as well and the prints are from Etsy seller InkTreePress.

You are right. We don't get to see so many multi-functional rooms in here. Yours is really charming, not to mention practical. I am quite curious about those little frames lined up on the wall by the crib. Are those prints?
