I wanted to create a room with an heirloom feel to it. One which would take my daughter, then 3 yrs old, all the way through....
My inspiration for Anna's room was the same as the rest of our home...a few beautiful things that can stand alone. I'm drawn to pattern and I'm not afraid of color.
I am somewhat of a purist, so I focus on individually beautiful and well made pieces. Equally important is that the piece(s) will remain in our home long term.

The view...but I can't take credit for that!
Choose one expensive item, for example a good quality wool rug, that will grow with your child/family. The rest can be a mix of some quality items and inexpensive items. For example, Anna's bed is a Full size, so she'll grow into it. Her lamps are vintage and I've had them for 25 years...they've been used in my bedroom, guest bedrooms and sitting area.
