A Garden to Grow In

Description

My daughter's nursery was designed around several items from her older brother's nursery and odds and ends that I inherited from my grandmother. It has a vintage/garden feel that I hope she will enjoy well into her toddler years. You can see and read all about the room's design on my blog, www.namesakedesign.blogspot.com.

Design Inspiration

Three little Beatrix Potter figurines from my childhood. The inspired the colors (pinks, blues, browns and greens) and the feel of the room.

Decorating Style

My home is very eclectic. I love to mix modern and antique peices, and throw in a dash of global flair.

Project Details

You can read all about the design of the room on my blog, www.namesakedesign.blogspot.com. The wall color in Benjamin more Pink Peony, the bedding is Pottery Barn Coco dots, and the curtain fabric is Dena designs Leanika Collection.

Favorite Items

I love all of the handmade touches. My three favorite things in the room are the mobile (made from the cards Beatrice received), the memo board (made out of an old tray), and the growth chart I painted with Beatrix Potter characters.

Advice

Look for vintage art pieces at garage sales and on Etsy. They add a unique touch to the room that doesn't scream "nursery". Also don't be afraid to use mismatched pieces of furniture. A fresh coat of paint and matching hardware can pull together second hand and thrifted items beautifully.

Ich bin wirklich sehr überfordert mit dem Allem, und frage mich was ich denn nun überhaupt noch essen kann, außer manche Obst und Gemüsesorten.
