When I started designing the nursery, I knew that I was having twins but wasn't sure of the gender. I wanted something colorful and fun, but soothing too, that would work for girls or boys. There are floor to ceiling windows in the nursery, and great views of trees and the bay, so I knew that I wanted to bring some of the nature that surrounds us, into the room.

I purchased the Mod Dot bedding from Skip Hop, first http://www.skiphop.com/product/moddot.html, and picked the red, green and blue colors to build off. I found the green curtains at Ikea, as well as the rug. The frog mobiles are by Flensted, and can be purchased at Design Public http://www.designpublic.com/. The tree and pond decals, from WallCandy Arts, were a great way to bring the outdoors inside http://www.wallcandyarts.com. Between the rug, the mobiles and the wall decals, I realized that a slight frog theme was developing, so I sort of went with it by adding some other frog themed items. The shelf over the changing table was passed down to me by my great grandmother. It was being stored in a closet, as it didin't really work with the rest of the house, but, of course, it had sentimental value. It was originally a medium wood color, but I painted it a sort of sky blue, and it works in the nursery, and is perfect for storing items that we use regularly.
