A Bright Vintage Inspired Nursery for Holden

Description

Holden's room is a mix of mid century modern with vintage touches from other eras as well. We own an antique store, so any mini vintage item we come across usually goes in his room.

Design Inspiration

We wanted a clean white and gray backdrop for all of the colorful vintage pieces we find, so we went with very basic patterns and furniture. We refashioned an old buffet into his changing table, and went with a smaller retro style rocking chair that didn't take up much space. We renovated our home to build this nursery for our little guy, and after we found a patch of hardwood floor under the carpet, we decided to keep that and make the small space as functional as possible.

Decorating Style

Our style is normally rustic industrial and turn of the century, but for Holden's room we ventured out into clean lines and a clean white space to share the unique pieces we found for him. As he grows and comes into his own style, he'll have a blank slate to share his own favorite things.

Favorite Items

We love the neon H letter we found. It came from a shoe company's sign out of Dubuque, Iowa and we love the pop of red it adds to the space. We also really love the 'Be Brave' banner from Secret Holiday Co, and the plus sign quilt his aunt sewed for him.

Advice

Scour flea markets and antique shops for fun items to make your room stand apart. You never know what fun things you're going to find!
