Description
A wonderful sophisticated family with modern tastes were looking to update their daughter's nursery into something more suitable for the first boy in the family.
Design Inspiration
The color inspirations for the room came from the silk scarf (it was originally framed and hung in the guest room) and the Smarties rug. We wanted to use the Smarties rug somewhere in the house and it was either here or in the playroom.
Decorating Style
This family's style is minimal. The predominant colors in their home are white and grey and they wanted their children's rooms to flow well and not necessarily stand out too much in contrast to the design of the rest of the home.

Favorite Items
My favorite item is definitely the rug. If you have the ability to splurge on a nice and colorful statement rug in any room...go for it. It will make all the difference.
Advice
Use neutral colors for the walls, bedding, and furniture and add some pop with artwork and a rug. The room won't seem overwhelmingly colorful but it won't be too monotone and neutral either.

Love the white walls and furniture with pops of colour! And all the touches are fun but not too baby - will grow with the little guy.

I'm doing something similar for my twins nursery and this room is just so tastefully done. I to would love to know where you go the giraffe decal, the white toy bags in the shelves and the other pieces as Ashlee asked. Just darling. That rug is fantastic Thanks.
