A Girly Nest for Gracie

Description

Aqua and yellow brighten this happy nursery designed with love for a happy little girl.

Design Inspiration

I had originally planned on a classic, neutral room for our Gracie that would flow with the rest of our house.  But when I found this gorgeous crib quilt, I knew a bright nursery was in our future. I was also inspired by the gorgeous aquas and yellows in this nursery and decided to try and recreate the happy feeling of that space.

Decorating Style

The folks at our local Pottery Barn know me by name. :)

Project Details

The words on the canvases above the changing table are "amazing grace," "how sweet," and "the sound."  They are just wooden letters glued to a canvas and then painted.

The frames on the gallery wall were all found at Goodwill (none cost more than $3 apiece) and then painted.

The bookshelves are actually picture ledges from Ikea, and I scored all the books secondhand at Half Price Books.

Favorite Items

I'm pretty partial to the embroidery hoop/name collage above her crib, but the painted canvases were definitely a labor of love.  It's a tossup!

Advice

I shied away from a theme in favor of finding colors and textures that worked well together.  The result is a space that I LOVE to be in.  Find pieces that inspire you, and spend a LOT of time on Project Nursery (as I did) when you hit a roadblock in the planning process. :)

I love this room and want that crib! I see that you linked the crib to basset, but where did you purchase it from? I can't find it anywhere in the white. Thanks!!! Stacey
