Description
A traditional, peaceful nursery for our first baby boy.
Design Inspiration
While celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary in Rome, Italy, my husband and I found out that I was pregnant! We wanted a traditional nursery for our baby boy, with a few travel inspired touches. I was born and raised in Florida so our color scheme was nautically inspired. We used creams, golds and blues to create a peaceful retreat for Roman and us.
Decorating Style
Neutral, Glamorous, Traditional.
Project Details
The biggest project we tackled ourselves was the picture frame molding and chair rail (and by "we" I mean my husband).
It was pretty time consuming but it is one of my favorite features in the room and definitely helps to give it that high end traditional feel we wanted.
The crib and the rocker were our biggest splurges in the room.

Advice
Stay away from buying sets of things (matching curtains, bedding, rugs). Create your own original look by collecting things from all over. Shop at stores for adult decor. Hardly anything in our nursery is from a "baby" store.

Yes the Hemnes dresser and stain no longer a available in Canada. Might be in the U.S. so I will find an equivalent here.

Is that the Hemnes dresser from Ikea? What finish is that? Maybe they don't have that finish as an option anymore :( It's so beautiful.
