Rustic Woodland Nursery

Although decor and design are not normally my wheelhouse, prior to starting the nursery I got a really great tip from a design blog.  Choose one piece, however large or small, as your starting piece, and build the rest of the room around that item.  For us, that was the faux deer antlers by whitefauxtaxidermy.com with the mustard yellow antlers.  From there, the rest of the room fell into place!  Living in a smaller place, space constraints and storage were constantly on our mind.  The crib has storage below, and my husband built the wall hanging diaper rack based on a discontinued product I had seen from Pottery Barn.  Although we did not end up having room for a glider, the sofa is a pullout so that the room can still serve a dual purpose as a guest room when needed.  We think it is a pretty soothing environment to bring this little guy home to!

Norah Ashley’s Woodland Forest Nursery

A perfect woodland forest nursery for Norah to let her imagination run wild. The wallpaper creates the woods feel, the wooden planked wall to soften, the pendant tree lights to give the idea she is surrounded by nature. Bunnies freely flying above her head, a deer clock ticking her to sleep, a bird house lighting up the dark night. What a magical place to sit, feed and sleep in.

A Bright and Woodsy Nursery for Luka

I knew I wanted to create a special space for my boy that was full of D.I.Y artwork and crafts made with lots of Love. This nursery was created on a tight budget and turned out to be one of my favourite rooms in the house. The woodsy theme featuring tourquoise, teals, burnt oranges and mustard yellow throughout the room. From the hand painted artwork to the hand made change table and refurnished dresser, all of these projects were designed to create a fun room for my baby boy to grow up in.

Baby Girl Woodland Nursery

I wanted the nursery that was traditional with and a little whimsical but not typical baby decor so when I settled on a woodland theme I knew I had a big project ahead of me. It’s really difficult finding baby decor that isn’t bright pastels or really cartoony. Plus, all the inspiration rooms I found where very heavily boy themed so I had to find my own inspiration for this room and pieced this room together, little by little, over 5-6 months

Emerson’s Soft Woodland Nursery

It was so fun putting together this nursery for our first born. We wanted a feminine nursery with woodland accents.  All items were hand selected from a variety of stores to keep the room unique and personal.  Our idea was for the nursery to be transitional for Emerson as she grows.  Furnishings and accents were chosen with a less juvenile feel with the hope that she will enjoy them for years to come.

Will’s Modern Woodland Nursery

This modern woodland nursery was completed by Katie, the mama to an adorable little boy named Will and creative DIYer behind the blog Haute Apple Pie. Traditional boy themes like trucks and sports did not fit the couples personality.  She said, “Knowing that this kid will probably spend tons of time outside, I’ve been trying to put together ideas for a room that my outdoorsy husband will love too.  I want it to feel soothing, but bright and whimsical but not too baby.”  Once she had a vision in mind, she started putting together an inspiration board for a modern woodland themed nursery.
