Nursery/Guest Room Combo
I had a lot of ideas for the nursery and tried to incorporate them all. I knew I didn’t want a quote on quote “baby’s room” and wanted it to be a little more grown up. So I gathered safari animals and paired them with a chevron print to create Rory’s room.
A modern nursery with soothing gray walls accented with navy blue and citron green. A mix of different prints was also used to make the room “pop”
I wanted a nursery that wasn’t ‘babyish’ and that would grow with our little man.
A fun nursery that she could grow with!!
The goal for our nursery was to have a space that our son could grow into.
We were SO excited for the arrival of our little man! The “theme” is vintage airplanes/blueprints. A special thanks to all of the friends and family who got us such beautiful gifts to help put our perfect little room together…couldn’t have done it without them!
Designing a second nursery in our house (his older brother was under two years old when Eddie was born) was all about minimizing extra clutter and unnecessary large items that would have to be stored later (especially if his older brother moved from his crib to an adult bed anytime soon). Therefore, I designed the room around the Bloom Alma Mini Crib. I wanted a smaller, collapsible crib, and I absolutely loved the color. From there, I decided on icy blue walls, orange, navy, and varied shades of green accents (I hand made the simple paper crane mobile with fishing line, 3m hooks, and cranes purchased on etsy.com), and a few neutral pieces to anchor the room. The Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose “Babies” prints give a sweet, light touch to the space over the changing table, while the large scale Edward Holland abstract tree print ties the colors of the room together (icy blue, white, lime green, grass green, and an accent of purple).
I chose this nautical theme after deciding that we wanted to have my daughter, Eliza’s, 1st birthday party on the lake in our neighborhood. With a lakeside setting, a preppy pink and navy nautical celebration seemed to be the perfect fit! After dinner, our little party guests built their own sailboats. My dad cut all the wood and my mom made the sails with leftover fabric from the backdrop. It was so cute to see a table of girls and one little boy using their hammer and nails to build sailboats. We then set sail in the lake! It was such a beautiful night and the perfect evening to celebrate our sweet girl!
The designs include a fun color palette consisting of a bubblegum pink, fuchsia, sunny yellow and navy that cheer for celebration! My goal was to create a party collection that can be easily recreated for children and adult parties and one that can be used for any occasion or event.
This room was designed for Borden when his family was moving into a new house. It was time for him to move into a “big boy” room and he needed a special space all his own in his family’s new house.
We purchased our home almost four years ago and have been slowly renovating each room. We saved the third bedroom for last always knowing it would be the future nursery. Before we began, we had to remove the layers of wallpaper on both the walls and the ceiling! We wanted everything in the nursery to be able to be used once he is a toddler which included all furniture and the design.
I wanted to design a space to transition her into her big girl room since her brother was on his way. I wanted to capture her little personality with bright colors and fun sayings.
This is our nursery for our baby girl Quincy who is due on November 30th.
Little Jack’s mom wanted something preppy and timeless. We achieved this with classic colors like Navy, Green and Grey.
We created the back drop for his nursery with the real wood paneled wall. We brought in the pop of color with the pillows, furniture ect;
A sophisticated, yet still boyish nursery for our son. It is centered around aviation, deep rich colors and personal hand made touches from loved ones.
A versatile nursery for a little man eclectic enough to absorb all the random gifts we received.
In general, we prefer to decorate our home with repurposed items we gather from thrift stores, flea markets, or as hand-me-downs. We do this not only because we live on a tight budget, but we prefer the aesthetic and being creative with what we have. Our goal with this nursery was to create a room that fit with the rest of our home, had a clear color theme, and room to easily change things as our little boy grows older.
