I designed this nursery for my baby girl due in January 2013. I knew I wanted some pink, but I didn’t want it to look like a pink explosion, so that’s why I choose blue for the walls. My husband and I spent about 2 weeks putting the board and batten up, and that really set the tone of the room right away. Next, I customized the bedding from carousel designs, and once the colors were finalized, I spent the next 2 months researching and acquiring the rest of the pieces.
It was my baby’s first birthday on October 6, so I wanted to incorporate pumpkins for Fall and yet infuse a bunch of girliness into it as well. Hence the orange + pink theme :)

Designed a nursery for my new baby girl arrival. Elephant themed gray and hot pink with green accessories. Made cushions for glider to match theme. Painted dresser two different shades of gray from original wood color. Added vine for wall decor.
When we found out we were expecting a girl, I instantly knew I wanted the colors to be gray and pink. I have always loved birds and thought that this little girl’s nursery could be sprinkled with birds as well (although I tried to stay away from too many birds…like the movie “The Birds”).

I wanted something whimsical, eclectic, and colorful. I also wanted it to be a room that could grow with her. **It’s still a work in progress… my husband has to finish putting up her crown molding and we need to get new fixture plates**
I put together many “over the top” parties, so for a nice change of pace, I put together an example of how you can put together a party quickly with tweaked store bought items and simple decorations.
I wanted a non-themed but girly room that would age well as Gretchen grows up. I wanted to DIY what I could (art, linens, refinishing my childhood dresser) while also investing in quality pieces that will hold up for future children (crib, glider, bookshelves).
This room was decorated when Leonor turned 6 and went to primary school. She needs a place to do her homework and has a lot of toys and books. So everything was organized so that she can sleep, play, study and read. Everything she likes to do. She spends there a lot of time playing with her sisters. As the room is quite small, the majority of items were custom made.

Lila’s nursery is a whimsical mix of color, print, and design. I wanted to incorportate my chevron obession (without going overboard) and give the nursery a colorful and bright feel that could grow with my daughter. Since this is my third baby, I wanted to be a little wild… and decided to make a statement with the dark pink dresser and white glider. Totally impractical? Maybe. Fabulous for design? Absolutely. It’s my third… no rules apply, right?
I wanted a room for our first baby girl that we would love spending time in. Living in NYC, space is limited so the room would also have to double as a bit of a guest room and have lots of storage options. After deciding on a color palate of grey and white with pops of hot pink, everything started to come together in a really fun way. Lots of different patterns keep your eye moving and Isabella is always finding new things to look at!
I spent the last six months searching for the perfect pieces to make our nursery dream come true. I wanted a nursery that would be artistic, unique and cozy. As a lover of travel I wanted to infuse the room with hints of things I learned from other countries and how different cultures bring harmony to their nurseries. From the purple heart wood flooring to the mobile of Japanese origami peace cranes I could not be more excited about the way it all came together. Having helped many friends and family members with their nurseries over the years it was so amazing to finally get to do one of my very own!
A very pink giraffe-print inspired birthday party for my daughter’s first birthday! Shades of pink, giraffe prints, tulips and pennant banner flags made her first birthday party exactly what I envisioned.
