Quentin’s Bright and Happy Nursery
I took my time designing the room and found a few inspiration pieces (the wall mural and curtains) and just went from there.

The Big One
In celebration of our new arrival my friend hosted an afternoon “tea” complete with scones, tea sandwiches and champagne!
Our little Bella Bug turned one and we celebrated ladybug style! A bright and fun party perfectly fit for our little bug!
I knew I wanted the nursery to be soothing, yet colorful and something that could easily transition to a more “grown up” space as as our baby matured. It was important to me that I could incorporate some new pieces with inexpensive/vintage pieces so that the room had character (and didn’t break the bank!). I was lucky to have the talented Lindsay Brummer come take pictures of the room http://www.lindsaybrummerphotography.com/!
We were so excited about having our first child that we couldn’t wait until we found out the gender to get to work. We knew that we wanted the walls to be a gender neutral colour and that we would add in personalized touches as we went. Our nursery is pretty tiny so we also wanted a space that would be functional yet not feel claustrophobic.
She’s About to Pop Baby Boy Shower.
a colorful, spacious nursery full of russian nesting dolls and vintage inspired decor
My husband and I hosted a Gender Reveal party for our baby girl!
Calm and soothing with punches of fun color.
We did not find out our babies genders before they were born, so I designed a gender neutral nursery that would work for boys/girls/or one of each! It was also done on a tight budget!
With little money and guided by a budget I knew I wanted to design a nursery for my son that reflected who we are, and one with personality and creativity. I wanted it to be a special place for him to sleep, play and grow. I feel I achieved it to my liking!
I wanted to design a nursery that would be a peaceful place for me to spend hours with our little girl–a space that was not too girly and pink and frou frou, but a more sophisticated room for a baby. There’s definitely no mistaking that this room is a nursery, but hopefully one that will grow throughout the next few years with her.
I’m obsessed with Navy and Gray. I knew how I wanted to do the pop wall, so I did that first, and then everything else just fell into place. I didn’t want the room to be too dark, so I made navy be a dominant color, but added the gray, light blue and lime green pops of color to brighten the room. I was trying to make the room “sweet” but still boy.My ultimate goal was to keep the room fairly contemporary to still flow with the rest of our house.
This room was once our spare bedroom that had beige carpet and beige walls. After trying for baby #1 since August of 2010, we found out we were finally pregnant this year near the end of February. I was so excited that I immediately put all our spare bedroom furniture up for sale on Craigslist. After clearing out the room, we took the money from the furniture and spent it on new baby furniture :)
We celebrated our daughter’s first birthday with a cupcake themed party.
A baby shower I threw for my friend Jocelyn who is having her first baby, Everett.
I’m not sure I really had a “theme” for the party, but I decided on objects to use based on colors: pink, green, orange, purple and blue. Anything I liked went! Polka dots, butterflies, cupcakes, pom-poms! It turned out girlie with a bright, garden theme. All the parties on Project Nursery were a great inspiration! Especially the “Modern Garden” birthday party, and anything from Kim at the TomKat Studio! Submitted By : Lindsay Christensen
