This is a ‘Do It On A Budget Nursery’, and we had a small room to work with, but I think it turned out great :) It was originally going to be a grey, yellow and lavender room; with owls as an accent… but somehow birds, butterflies and blossoms made their way in, along with some of my old ballet treasures.I love the way it turned out though.

Spice Girl, X-Factor Australia host, Fitness Guru (and on, and on), Melanie Brown contacted us to work on her new baby’s nursery, and we are so thrilled to share the über-glamorous, on-trend nursery with Project Nursery readers!

Our baby girl’s room is traditional with a touch of whimsy and fun. We wanted every wall to have an unexpected item and the room to be one she could grow up in.
A perfect blend of purple and gray with a splash of yellow. And of course, OWLS!!!!
I needed to create a serene and calm space for the 2 girls. The house is decorated very traditional so I was going for decor that will blend in with the rest of the home. The room wasn’t too big either.
My good friend Karrie moved way up north away from her friends not too long ago and started working on her 3rd child. She doesn’t have much of a support system up there, and was feeling a little blue that there wasn’t anyone to be excited with her about the new baby. We were thrilled when she decided to drop back down and visit! There had to be a “sprinkle” for her if no other reason to let her know how much she and the baby were loved. So it was entirely fitting that our event be all about “baby LOVE.”
I wanted to create a serene and feminine nursery for our little girl using lilac, white, and gray. There are elements of old and new along with homemade art and finishes.
Ellie’s room is full of love! Her father and I chose each piece and aspect of the room! We are on a small budget and wanted something cozy and not the typical pink.
I am Ellen Wilson and I am an interior designer in Louisville, KY. Penelope Ann’s mother, Lauren, hired me to work with her to put together her ideal nursery for her first child! I absolutely love designing nurseries! I first pulled together some scenarios and we decided on a color scheme. Lavenders, pinks and whites were what we decided on, from there we just ran with it.
I’m pregnant with our first baby and had way too much fun decorating her nursery. Etsy was my go-to source for many original products.
I used a focus point and that was on the chair…I loved the pattern and then ended up finding the owl wall decor and everything started to fall into place!
When we found out we were having a girl, I knew I didn’t want a super feminine room. I’m a big fan of modern design and “frilly” isn’t my style. I liked the idea of including a lot of color in her room, so I chose to focus on orange, pink and red. My mom and I DIY’d almost everything in the room – it was a labor of love and I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

A sweet lavender space for my first baby full of things I love to look at. Hopefully she will too! This is a small (approximately 10 x 10) room with three doors and a huge window. I was sad that I couldn’t fit all my ideas in here!

I wanted our nursery to have three elements: color, texture, & pattern. A room that felt SPECIAL! Something to reflect our personal taste, but still suitable for a baby. After deciding on paint and wallpaper, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work!
We love the lavender hues and how they compliment the espresso furniture. The extra “pops” of rich color & artwork keep it age-appropriate for our girl.
