Olivia’s Room

Our first little girl’s nursery, pretty in pink for a princess to be!
Glam shabby chic nursery for our daughter
Pink and Black Damask.
We wanted her room to look like it came right out of a designers portfolio, so once we moved recently I started brainstorming and decided on a modern but vintage mix, and I love damask print things so that was my fist inspiration….the mirrors were first then the curtains went perfectly, making it easy to keep a pink and blue themed nursery.
PINK, BLACK, DAMASK, GIRL NURSERY
I already have two daughters and when I found out I was having a son I knew I wanted a nursery that was theme-less yet masculine and that would flow with the rest of our home. I was fortunate enough to find a couple of wonderful artists who helped me by creating a bed crown (that I now want our room!) and the bedding. I knew I wanted Navy and green, then it was just a matter of finding the right pieces to fit it all together.
It’s far from all the professional nurseries on this website but it’s our little girl’s new home! Since we lived in a rental property when our first daughter was born I wanted to take full advantage to being able to decorate our newest daughter’s room.
For my Daughter’s nursery I wanted something vintage and girly. But, I didn’t want it to baby ish I wanted something that she could grow into. Many of the decor items I made myself for a DIY nursery.
This little girl’s nursery is all glam, all the time! From the bold eggplant color walls, the sumptuous silks and velvets, and the elegant mirrored end table, this nursery is anything but ordinary. The client’s choice of dark, rich woods are in perfect harmony with the deep jewel tones of eggplant and green, and adding pops of ivory added the right amount of contrast. This nursery uses a layered look to give it luxury and depth, such as the stenciled damask panels behind the crib layered with colorful art hung from silk ribbon. I am so excited about how this project turned out, and I hope it provides lots of inspiration!!
I threw this party for my Daughter’s first birthday. London turned one, so we did a candy buffet with red velvet cupcakes, red velvet and white chocolate cake balls, caramel apples, lollipops, kisses, and candy galore! Between my Mother and I, we made all of this!! My Mom and I may go overboard, but we have so much fun doing it together!
The idea was to create a chic nursery with layered patterns, rich colors and crystal accents. Hot pink, turquoise, and robin’s egg blue are set against a rich background of chocolate walls with ivory wood wainscoting for an elegant, classic look. Ivory furnishings and artwork were used to “pop” against the chocolate backdrop. Floor to ceiling dupioni silk draperies highlight the dramatic 10′ ceiling height.
