Comfortably modern
We are doing a beach/sea theme.
An elegant Under The Sea Soiree I designed for my god daughter, Lauren’s 10th birthday celebration featuring her favorite color: turquoise!
My son had a super rad SURFER 7th birthday party! He picked blue and orange with a pop of green as his color scheme and I went for a very beachy overall feel . Best part is that this party was done on a REAL budget and I think we ot our bang for our buck! Photos were taken by Maggie Russo Photo ~ Chicago
This was a shower put on by my Sister, Mom, Aunt and Grandma. I think they did such a beautiful job! I was not allowed to know any details, not even the location until I arrived to the shower. They wanted it to be a complete surprised, and I was so proud of the hard work they did. I wish there were more pics, but here is what I have to show what a wonderful job they did!
Soothing, yet whimisical beach theme great for boy or girl
This client lives just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean and wanted the sea to be an underlying theme in a modern setting. She was not afraid to use bold colors and embraced the energy that the painted ceiling and bold fabrics created in the nursery.
beach/nautical baby boy’s room
My little surfer boy….it all began with a luau baby shower, he had a surfer boy themed room and for his first birthday, OF COURSE, a Surfer Boy Party! :)
A nautical themed nursery for our first baby, a boy. As soon as we knew our baby was a boy, I started shopping for all nautical themed stuff. I had in mind this beautiful big toybox and make it a window seat at the same time! It was all white and I painted the beach landscape on it. My husband installed and painted the wainscoating, built and installed a long shelf on the opposite wall facing the crib and it is wonderful for displaying Logan’s toys, books and mementos. He also made the boat bookcase and customized the dresser to make it a changing table-dresser combo. I hope this room inspires you!
Both my partner and I have a fondness for the ocean. I was raised near to it, and grew up spending my summers at the beach. His is a unique love – he programs autonomous underwater vehicles and spends the majority of his days dealing with the sea in one way or another. We decided to translate that fondness into a nursery for our child. At the time, we did not know the gender so we wanted to keep it somewhat neutral, and wanted a feeling of calm peacefulness, silky sand, and clean ocean air.

Catch a wave in this bright and fun nursery! We brought the islands indoors- from the swaying palm trees, custom surf board vintage Hawaiian art and raffia border you’ll feel like you’re on a tropical vacation!

I’ve just returned from vacation and I’m catching up on missed episodes of HGTV’s Design Star in time for tonight’s season finale. Last week was definitely controversial and I like to join to masses in saying that Lonni’s room was indeed awesome. She so didn’t deserve to have her show “canceled”. This season however, Design Star did a nice job giving desginers the opportunity to create rooms for little people. While some were hits and others misses, here’s a recap of Dan’s recent nursery makeover for celebrity Jason Priestly. You be the judge.
What better theme for a summer birthday than a Beach Party? These photos are from my son’s 4th birthday party held at our home in Phoenix. Invitation, Cupcake Toppers, Banner, Door Sign – TheTomKatStudio.com Cupcake Stand – Wilton
