Baby Be Mine, Valentine’s Day Party

This party was a super fun get together for my son and his baby buddies. We had Angel food cake, Neapolitan cupcakes with strawberry filling, mini sandwiches and chocolate covered strawberries. Of course cheerio cups and fruit were plentiful for the kiddos as well.  Each kid received a valentine card along with a box of valentine message hearts.  Overall it was a fun, playful, action packed event!

Colorful Owl Nursery

This is a second, more colorful take on Landon’s original nursery ( http://projectnursery.com/projects/baby-landons-owl-nursery/ ).  We spent his first year sharing a room at my parent’s house, and when he turned one we moved into a place of our own!  I kept most of the same things but changed and added a few things.
In the original nursery I really wanted to use a bright, fun paint color for the walls but it didn’t really work with the decal I chose.  So in the new nursery I made sure to chose the paint color first and the wall decal second.
Basically, it is his original nursery perfected :)
(I also included pictures of his bathroom decor since it’s connected to his room and it goes with the theme.)

Mummy-Made

I decided to make Summer a little dress with some leftover fabric from some toys I made to go in her room. Now she matches!

Sloane’s Sweet Baby Retreat

Sloane’s nursery is girly, but still sophisticated enough to blend with the rest of our home. It’s a really large room, so we wanted it to double as a guest room and be able to repurpose some of the items down the road. We’re also in a rental apartment, so could only really change the wall color.

DIY Bright Nursery

I had so much fun designing this space; finding, salvaging, and making.

Pink, White and Blue Nursery

This nursery was especially designed for Harper.  Previously this room belonged to her big sister, so before Harper was born, we re-worked the room, incorporating old and new ideas to use what would work again, but also make it new for her.

Bright & Fun Pink Beach Nursery

This is the room we created for our daughter. We wanted to make it bright, fun and not too “baby”. A room that will grow with her. A lot of her furniture we already had and was given to us. We just had to find a crib to match. Our color scheme was decided by the fun toddler comforter we found.

Gray and Cream Baby Girl’s Nursery

I have one other daughter who has a pink, cream, & brown room.  I wanted something totally different in this baby girl’s room.  It started with the gray (Annapolis gray to be specific) walls & went from there.  Only 1 wall is stenciled.  The others were left in plain gray paint.

Gender Reveal Party for Baby Johnston

We threw a party for our closest friends & family, to find out the gender of our first baby. We had everyone choose a side, boy or girl, & wear pink or blue according to their guess. We went through the old wives tales to see what the old wives tales had to say about what our baby would be! We kept a tally on a chalk board, along with everyones votes. At one point during the party, we had everyone seperate into two teams, team pink & team blue. They had to draw what they thought our baby would look like. Their drawings were hilarious! We did not know the gender of our baby before the party. We had the ultrasound tech write it down & put it in a sealed envelope. I then gave the envelope to a dear friend & she made a cake, that had either pink or blue filling, according to what the tech wrote in the envelope. We cut the cake to reveal the gender, & it was a GIRL! It was so much fun finding out this big secret with our friends & family :) more on our blog: anwjohnston.blogspot.com

Quinn’s Nursery… and Mommy’s Workspace

My husband and I found out we were expecting just a little sooner than WE expected! We are currently still living in a 2 bedroom apartment, but didn’t want to move in the middle of our pregnancy. So, we decided to make the best of our current office space that occupied our 2nd room and transform it into a nursery… leaving just the office essentials to get us by!

Petite Garcon Rustic French Inspired Baby Shower

As a baby planner one of my favorite things to do is plan a baby shower. I get to bring romantic visions to life. I don’t often get carte blanche to just do what I like, but this time was special. Armed only with the colors of the nursey and the knowledge that the new arrival would be a bouncing baby boy. I went to work, and what evolved was a fun french inspired fete’ befitting a petit garcon…..

A Mod Nod to Peter Rabbit

My artist mother – lyndahwrightfineart.com –  and I sketched out silhouettes of Peter Rabbit and his garden, then I painted them.  I wanted something clean and modern but sweet, fun, and ‘gender neutral’ for our surprise baby (girl!).

Nautical Baby Boy Shower

This was a baby shower thrown for me last month. My wonderful Aunt and Mom were the masterminds behind the event. The nautical theme was accompanied by the cute slogan, “Ahoy, it’s a boy!”

Gray and Pink Nursery with a Splash of Green

Crafty bedroom with gray and pink and a dash of green.Putting together Penelope’s nursery was one of the most fun things I’ve done. I can’t say that my husband would agree as he had tons of IKEA furniture to put together. I have to say that her room is my favorite in the house. It’s the nicest and the one that’s most well put together.
