With Halloween right around the corner, I figured quite a few of you may be hosting parties or play group gatherings this week. As always, we like to think of ourselves as a go-to resource for the busy mom. To help you out, I’ve compiled a short list of festive decorations, easy-to-make sweets and simple activities to do for you today that will make you look like the most “spook-tacular” hostess on the block…

Petit Nest Tree

This week I joined Melisa & Pam for the 8th annual ABC Kids Show. The expo ran on two levels of the Las Vegas Convention Center, featuring everything from gliders to BPA-free snack sacks to coconut mattresses. Needless to say, we were grateful for our decision to carry flats and sandals in our Project Nursery totes. We attended as media for the opportunity to get our hands on all the new products for nursery and beyond! We have tons to share with you over the next couple of weeks so let’s kick this off with the booth that generated some serious buzz: Petit Nest…

We are so flattered! Yesterday top online parenting resource, Babble announced their 50 Best Design Blogs For Moms. Project Nursery came in #2 within the home category. Big kiss to Elina Furman of Mamaista for making us sound pretty darn cool. We’ve been walking just a little bit taller since – despite carpooling in yoga pants all week!…

JJ Cole BundleMe

How fun, a mid week giveaway! Our readers are always asking us for the “Best In Show” when it comes to the nursery. We love testing and touching all things related to the baby nursery so we can accurately and honestly report back with the latest and greatest. But we all know that having a baby doesn’t just stop with the nursery. There are heaps of products on the market made with baby in mind and it can be both frustrating and overwhelming. I know when I had my first I was constantly thinking, “Is this product really worth it?”…

Project Nursery Room

I don’t know about you, but my weekends are filled with home improvement projects and a gardening to do list I never seem to get to. Since sleeping in is no longer an option these days, I might as well get to work with my husband. So after a morning discussion of whether or not we are getting transfered back east, a quick design board and a trip to Lowes, a romantic Saturday night of taping off the old nursery ensued.

For those of you who don’t know, I started Project Nursery with my friend Pam because I posted Austin’s first nursery in our LA home, “Modern Baby Blue”…

Popcorn Costume

It’s that time of year! At every play date, gym or music class I’ve attended this week, the question was asked: “What are your kids going to be for Halloween?” With the costume catalogs rolling in pottery barn kids tops our list. I’ve had both a puppy dog and a hamburger in previous years. Not only did my son (well, me really) receive great compliments, but the “In and Out” hamburger year had us chuckling all night long. Even my vegan neighbors appreciated the 34 inch tall hamburger waddling down the sidewalk.

princess party tomkat studio

Our dear contributor and woman behind The TomKat Studio Kim Stoegbauer, is taking time to answer some of our curious questions today. We are proud to boast that we knew Kim way back when. Okay, it’s only been less than two years but she’s exploded onto the children’s party scene with her sweet sense of style and highly coveted DIY party printables.

Working from home doing what you love is a dream come true for myself and so many other moms. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of late nights. Kim is an inspiring example of what it takes to manage a household…
