My sweet clients wanted a wall of bright and cheery floral wallpaper paired with a soft pink paint for the remaining walls. With richly stained nursery furniture, neutral bedding, and sweet decorative accents, this fun nursery came to life.
This was a super fun project! I wanted a space that would be able to mature over time, but still feel playful and fun for the current phase. Blue was his favourite colour and just took it from there! We strategically created four zones in this space and I think it turned out awesome!

THE TRICKY SPACE
My client has a beautiful sunny nook on their main floor. But it’s just been sitting empty since they’ve moved in 3 years ago. They just couldn’t figure out what to do with it.
Big sister was becoming quite the artist, and little brother loves reading and dancing. Without an intentional plan in place, these activities were taking up the entire main floor, with paper and art supplies everywhere!
This 100 sq ft nook is the first thing you see walking into the home. Not only did it need to integrate seamlessly with the rest of the main floor, it also needed some expert space planning to really maximize the flow and function of the space for two kids!
THE TRANSFORMATION
We wanted something fun and inviting, but not too kiddish!
We went with warm neutrals with pops of bold jewel tones. The kid-sized chairs even match the ones my clients have in their dining room! The retro cool vibe felt fun and so authentically them!
Nailing down the layout for a shared space is key. As I planned this room, I pictured how it would be used by two kids and established a clear walkway around the art table. There was plenty of room to move around, whether it’s getting up for more paper, or setting down their art caddy ready to work.
To make the most of the space, I added a cozy READING & MUSIC NOOK on one side of the room’s wall and tucked an ARTS & CRAFTS HUB into a recessed spot on the other.
In Montessori, we’re all about helping kids to help themselves. Having paper, markers, and scissors within easy reach empowers our kids to take charge of their own creativity.
DISPLAYING KIDS’ ARTWORK is a must. Kids take immense pride in their artwork when they see it displayed. I came up with a simple display that lets those 2D and 3D masterpieces shine.

Monstera leaf closet nursery
We are big DIYers and over the last few years, have DIYed a lot of the renovation on our 1960s house. When we found out we were expecting our first child, I knew I wanted to do something fun and special with her nursery. Before we got to the fun stuff like decorating however, the husband did a bunch of research on some bones-work on areas he wanted to improve on the room (things like removing the popcorn ceiling, adding sound-dampening measures to the room etc) and he got to work!
We were gifted a dresser from some friends that had used it with both their kids, so we knew it would be a great project to refresh for our own nursery!
Then, after all that work, it was finally my turn to have fun with designing and painting the nursery (at 33 weeks pregnant too!!)
While I love “themed” rooms and have done my fair share of them in the past, I wanted to design something that would be easy to buy accessories/items for, and not box ourselves into a corner with a too-specific theme. I also wanted to try to design something that in 3-5 years from now, she might still enjoy having as her room.
We are big gardening/nature people, and we also love the feel of mid-century-modern decor, so I took those areas of interest and loosely designed the room around them. I did a combination of MCM and plant shapes for the mural, picked a warm color scheme (most of our house is a combination of warm yellow/green/brown colors as well) and carried that theme throughout the room, by designing and painting some art and unfinished wood decor items to tie the room together!
We’re thrilled with the end result, and it’s been so easy to add items to the nursery, as the colors I used for the mural are very common to find in crib sheets, changing pad covers, baby clothes, stuffed animals etc.

Space and space exploration have a special place in both my and my husband’s hearts. Our wish was to share that with our child as soon as he enters the world and what better way to do it than to bring space into his nursery.
This is a DIY project, with the wallpaper and knot pillows sourced from Etsy, the furtniture set from Little Guy Comfort, the shelving and rug from Crate Kids and the handwoven rug from Love44. The glider is from Babyletto. The wall hanger is from West Elm. The window treatment is from the Shade Store. The wall, ceiling and trim paint is from Clare.
The nursery is the perfect space for our son – both are a labor of love and dedication towards building a thriving and loving family together.
I really wanted to create a neutral space that my baby girl can grow into. Other than the crib I used furniture pieces that can be used when she grows up as well as other places in the home. I wanted to stay away from the typical pinks and try some yellows with pops of powder blue. I still managed to make the space look extra cute and girly despite the colour palette. Im in love with how it turned out and it suits our baby girl so well :)

We wanted to give my sweet boy the best first birthday for making us have the best year of our lives! When searching for themes, I felt like I was seeing the same ideas and themes over and over, and definitely less ideas for boys! When finally stumping upon the camping theme I was left in the dark with very few ideas to go off of. I whipped up these details with the help of my mom and would love to share with you the day Rayden was ONE Happy Camper !
