Turquoise Toffee

I am a lover of all things turquoise and always find a way to add a touch of turquoise to my party decor! My blog,, showcases all the baking, decorating, fitness, fashion, beauty and baby ideas I have--and they all somehow incorporate the colour turquoise! If you love turquoise too then follow @turquoisetoffee on Instagram and Pinterest for even more inspiration. I'm a wife, new mom, and vintage loving lady with loads of ideas to share!

Turquoise Baby Sprinkle

I am about to have my second baby and my first baby boy, so a baby sprinkle was in order! Turquoise is my favourite colour (I even have a whole blog about it!), so we had to have an elegant turquoise baby sprinkle.
We had this shower when I was 35 weeks pregnant at our house. It was a really nice little party, especially so because a few friends attended that we hadn’t seen in years.
The theme was simple: just turquoise and doughnuts! I made really elegant invitations with a blue and turquoise geode agate theme. I decorated the mantel with artificial blue and turquoise flowers, some vines and leftover ivy from my Comic Con Poison Ivy costume. I also baked some delicious sugar cookies and decorated them with sweet cream cheese icing. The rest of the food was very simple, with doughnuts the highlight of the dessert table! Follow the link to my blog here to get more details and instructions!
The piece de resistance was a DIY doughnut hole tower. Didn’t it look spectacular?! So simple, so delicious! Click here to go to the tutorial.
We played a few games, ate tonnes of food, and enjoyed all the kids playing with my little 18 month old Baby J. It was a really lovely party and I’m so grateful to be blessed with such sweet and kind friends!

Great Gatsby First Birthday Party

First birthday parties are so memorable for us new moms, and I wanted Baby J’s to be fabulous. What could possibly be more elegant and glamorous than a 1920s, Great Gatsby themed party!?!
This party had a lot of DIYs–the backdrop, the photo booth, the Ferrero Rocher tower, the cake smash photo backdrop, the ostrich feather bouquet, the baked goods, and the crystal tree. Nothing was too complicated and it all turned out perfectly!  For the details of all the DIY projects check out my post Great Gatsby First Birthday Party for Baby J.
I kept the food simple since it was a small guest list, but everything tasted delicious. I always add vanilla cake batter mix to my Rice Crispy Squares to make them extra special. And that Ferrero Rocher tower was really simple to make, come to the blog for the tutorial!  We drank sparkling juice and I even let Baby J have a taste, oh the face she made was precious!
I had 1920s jazz music playing in the background, and both me and Baby J dressed up in our fanciest flapper dresses and headbands. Of course I did more than a couple photo shoots of my sweet baby, but by the time we made it to the photo booth she was fast asleep–she definitely partied like Gatsby!
This first birthday party was so much fun and turned out so beautiful. It was exactly what I had envisioned for little Baby J.  Now to start planning her second birthday party…
