Every year we invite our friends over for a holiday party! This year, we were lucky with the amazing weather to host an outdoor halloween crafting party. The kids all painted a canvas and received a treat bag with goodies to get them into the Halloween spirit.
My baby turned one! His party was full of vintage camp vibes!
All the decor was made by me and the incredible cake was made by my mom.
The party favours were jars of homemade play dough with insects!
I was so committed to the theme that I even painted the wall in the playroom buffalo check to go with the vintage feel I wanted!

Newspaper poster – Created in Photoshop
Colourful block buildings – Used spare wood to create these and then a paint marker for the windows
Backdrop – Created in Photoshop and used good old Bristol board for the buildings

Mateo’s room is full of DIY projects! I did the board and batten with the built in shelf, I made floating shelves and artwork, I painted the closet and made the white shelf. I also hacked the Ikea dresser with some dark paint and new hardware! My mom made me the beautiful quilt that is in his crib and she gifted me the hand crafter elephant head which is my favourite accent in the room! The print is from Jenny’s print shop and the diaper box was built by my husband. Lots of love went into creating this room for my brave babe. All the heart eyes for shades of green right now! xo
My niece is turning seven this year and I wanted to throw her a SPA inspired birthday party. The girls were able to get pampered by the mama’s and snack on sweets and cucumber sandwiches! They enjoyed face masks, mani’s and pedi’s and we finished the party off with a homemade PINK ombre cake and macaroons made by my talented grandma!
My little babe just turned TWO and is completely paw patrol and dog obsessed! I knew I wanted to throw him a puppy inspired party and invite all of his friends to decorate cupcakes, colour and of course do the pup pup boogie! I’m always on a tight budget for my party planning and I think some of these free printables could help you mama’s out if you also have a sweet babe who loves Paw Patrol. I did customize my printables in Photoshop to give it a personal touch with my son’s name and age. I also made the LUKA name sign listing all of his favourite things in Photoshop and then got it printed at Costco for $10 – hello, cute keepsake too! The water bottle printables were also customized, but can be downloaded for free and the puppy backdrop is another easy and downloadable printable! Hashtag Gomama’sonabudget!
My son Luka LOVED every second of his party. The balloon arch I made for him was probably his favourite. His face lit up when he came out to the living room and saw it and that’s enough to make this mama’s heart melt! The kids played and decorated their favourite coloured cupcakes, adopted and named their puppies, and played outside and had an absolute blast. After the party, they took their puppy chow home for a snack which was just cocoa puff cereal!
My nan and mom are the BEST party helpers and took care of the cake, cookies, cupcakes and helping cut out all of the custom paper pieces. I’m always blown away at how creative and talented my grandma is and that cake was definitely one of my little one’s favourite things about his party, so a HUGE thank you to both of them too!
