Pea Pod’s Pink or Blue BBQ

Since we had a gender reveal dinner for our son, when we found out we were expecting our second, who we called Pea Pod, I knew we had to do the same. Also the planning made waiting to find out a little easier. After we had our elective early gender scan at 16 weeks and found out the gender of our little “Pea Pod” we gathered our close family and friends at my parents home and decorated with gender neutral green pea pods. I ordered cupcakes froma friend of a friend and had the centers filled with the correct color frosting, and we had a cook out. After everyone finished eating they were allowed to bite into the cupcake and find out “Its a GIRL!”

Ezra’s Dr. Seuss 1st Birthday

Since I really wanted a Seuss themed nursery for our son, and it didn’t work out, I was determined to use it for his first birthday. He has loved having the Seuss books read to him more than any other since he was tiny so we knew this was perfect. I love planning parties, and I wanted Ezra’s to be extra special and have more personal touches than your average first birthday. Due to my husband’s insistence I also did this on a pretty reasonable budget as well by ordering lots of printables from etsy.com, using wrapping paper and ribbon to decorate old formula cans and adding foam balls to hold up the chocolate lollipops and marshmellow cat hats I made, and making the cupcakes myself.
