Maison Ellie Interiors

Maison Ellie is an interiors studio specializing in beautiful and functional spaces for the little ones in your life.

Rebecca has had a natural talent and passion for interior design from a very young age. Following the birth of her children, she realized that her creativity was best channeled by designing and styling spaces for little ones. And so came to life her interiors studio, Maison Ellie.

Her bright and natural aesthetic is layered with texture and eclectic flare. She designs rooms that are both approachable and functional for the little one using it, while equally stylish and beautiful for the whole family to enjoy. Each space is packed with uniquely curated touches aimed to reflect the child's personality and equipped to grow with them for years to come.

Winter Woodland Holiday Boy Room

A cozy woodsy room, filled with whimsy and holiday cheer!
I was a little too excited about styling my kid’s rooms for the holidays this year. I mean, it helped that my 3 year old was talking about decorating the entire house the day after halloween. The pressure was on! His room already had a bit of a woodsy feel with pops of green, so we stuck with a winter woodland style. It was pretty simple to spruce the space up for the holidays!
I started with these amazing bottle brush trees from Indigo. They came in a pack of 10, so I split them up between my son and daughter’s rooms based on colour.
I found some fun finds from HomeSense, like this mini tree, nutcracker and stocking. The little wooden Santa figurines were from my childhood. I love telling my kids about all the decorations I grew up with, it makes this time of year so special and nostalgic.
I knew I had to drop by Canadian Tire and walked out with beautiful ornaments, like these mini monochrome baubles in black and silver. Since they didn’t come with any string, I picked up some nice black ribbon and hung them up on the tree. The easiest 5 minute DIY. And the little vintage camper ornament was a must!
I placed a few of the bottle brush trees with a wooden bead garland on his shelf to create another cute vignette! It turned out to be a great spot to feature some Christmas books too.
I’ve always loved this black IKEA stool under the window, it’s great for rotating in favourite books or toys on the weekly, so I knew this would be the perfect spot for his new nutcracker. And the Santa’s elf factor makes it extra cute, right?
The best part of all was witnessing my son’s reaction when he walked in the room for the first time… ‘wowwwww, it’s incredible’, he said. And that’s what it’s all about!

‘Rosé All Day’ Girl Nursery

This bright room was designed for my sweet little daughter, and remains one of my personal favourites to this day. I wanted to keep the space fresh and simple with some light touches of blush pink and rose gold sprinkled throughout. This is a great example of a feminine nursery that still feels somewhat grown-up; one that will work for my daughter for years to come!
The room was already outfitted with a PBK crib, dresser and rocking chair from my son’s previous nursery, so we just needed some fun accessories and textiles to tie it all together. I wanted to include a collection of unique wall art pieces and it all started with two bunny prints from Lila & Lola. I absolutely fell in love with them! From there, we added some extra large XO prints (also from Lila & Lola), rose gold confetti dots from Umbra, an Attalie Dexter fringed wall hanging and IKEA book ledges to house a growing collection of books.
The ceiling pendant from Wayfair really helps to make a statement, it’s the perfect scale and style for this room! We also added in some unique one-of-a-kind pieces from HomeSense, like a terrific wooden shelving unit with hooks to house headbands, hats and cute little toys.
You’ll always find an endless amount of textiles in each room that I design! For this room, I selected a muted alphabet crib sheet and complemented it with a bold flamingo quilt, both from Little Unicorn. Extra blankets and swaddles are organized in a beautiful pom pom canvas storage bin from Pehr. And what’s a room without a little fur? This large mongolian fur cushion from Urban Barn adds a girly touch. We finished things off with some textural storage bins to hold books, dolls and tons of soft toys.
I adore the way this room turned out! You can check out more of this space and other Maison Ellie kids’ rooms over on my website portfolio.
