I'm a mom and photographer with a love for all things vintage, nostalgic, and old fashioned. Creating a home is one of my very favorite things to do. Taking photos of my family is one of my greatest joys, and I love sharing bits and pieces of our life on Instagram.

Vintage Nursery Made to Grow

When my husband Seth and I bought this 150-year-old Victorian this past June, I knew this would be the perfect kids room. Our daughter Priscilla’s nursery is across the hall, but I always imagined turning this space into a second nursery once we got pregnant again. When we found out we were in expecting in October, I started dreaming of making this guest room into a sweet spot for baby brother. Eventually, we plan on moving both kids in here together. I love the vintage twin beds that came with the house and wanted to update with fresh bedding. A friend generously gifted me the antique dresser. The crib is almost identical to the one we have for Priscilla, and I love the look of white, iron cribs. Most of all, I have loved filling this room with pieces of family heirlooms and photographs. I framed a few images from our gender reveal and maternity session, my husband added a few of his favorite adventure books, and I have two samplers from each side of our family framed. The Jesus drawing was a gift from my dad. I am so inspired by vintage children’s book illustrations, textile textures, and the idea of melding old and new. Choosing a bright, pale green wall color was a bit of a leap, but I have fallen so in love with it. I love trends and seeing how others decorate, but I appreciate adding my own touches and truly shopping my home. We are so excited to welcome our son, and cannot wait for him to enjoy his space.
