Our baby is due on Monday, September 24th! Can not wait. I have taught art to kids for years and have been busy creating murals and I finally get my own sweet bundle of joy to create for. As a muralist, I had many people asking what I would be painting in my daughter's room. I wanted something sweet and pretty that steered away from a specific theme. I painted the window wall as to not over power the room. I believe a mural should add a little something to a room and not take over. The rest of the room is very DIY. My dad transformed the door into a dutch door and created a storage bench large enough for me to sleep on if need be. Overall, I think the look of the space is sweet, a little old fashioned, and a happy place for my daughter to grow. With my little girl due any day, I am excited to take some time off work and focus on her. I am not sure if I will return to teaching and painting, I have to see how it is with my little. I have always dreamed of doing something from my home, so possibly I can...eventually. For now its all about becoming a momma and welcoming our little Rossi.

A Peachy Pink DIY Nursery and a Sweet Little Mural

The look I was going for is sweet and eclectic. I wanted to steer away from a theme and include all things happy. It was a fun family project; my mom made the dust ruffle, my dad converted the door into a dutch door and crafted a custom storage bench/sleeper, Hubby painted the peachy pink walls and hung all the pretties, and I painted the mural, made the mobile and the hair accessory frame.
