Colourful Polkadot Playroom
This playroom was designed for a brother and sister when they were age 2 1/2 years and 6 months respectively. They are now 5 and 7 and still use and enjoy their playroom everyday!

My client, who had a clear vision for the look and feel she wanted in this nursery, contacted me months before her baby was due. She knew she wanted some type of wainscotting, soft colours and a somewhat “boho” feel to the space. Above all else, she knew she’d be spending a lot of time there, so she wanted to love it. And I’m happy to say she does!
This room was designed for a little boy to update his nursery to his “big boy” room. The bead board wainscotting, convertible toddler bed and dresser were existing. My client wanted a “celestial” theme that was not too “themey”. This drove the design in that most (although not all) of the elements of the design were suggestive of the celestial theme, rather than literal. This is how I prefer to approach children’s room design because it allows the room the grow with the child. Who wants to completely redecorate every couple of years?!
