A Little Sheep Party
In the Korean culture the 100th day (baek -il) of a child’s life is celebrated. On Saturday we had a small get together to celebrate my youngest nephew’s baek-il!

For sister’s baby shower, I had found a cute “she’s about the pop” theme. We had several kinds of popcorn, party favour bags had pop rocks, lollipops, etc. I could have pushed it more on the pop theme but I held back. I’m not much of a theme person and this was my first attempt at it. Always budget conscious I made all the decorations. I even attempted to make cupcakes (gotta learn how to ice properly…). All in all it was a lot of fun and a I had a great time DIYing the decorations!
We spotted the room Nancy designed for her future niece or nephew in our gallery and asked her if she wouldn’t mind sharing a little tutorial. Since the project was already completed, Nancy had to improvise a little to share with us. Thanks, Nancy! Over a decade ago, my mother bought a storage unit …
I designed this nursery for my sister and brother in law’s baby. They aren’t finding out the sex of their baby so it had to be gender neutral. I didn’t want it to have a typical gender neutral color scheme so I chose yellow, turquoise, grey and white for a fresh palette. Their budget was incredibly tight so I found old pieces of furniture and refinished them. Only the crib and rocking chair is new. Some items from my brother in law’s childhood were incorporated into the design for a more meaningful touch. We took out the doors to the closet to open up the space. The inside already had the blue and white wallpaper. Due to time and budget, we decided to just keep it. Luckily it kind of goes with the color palette!
