My husband and I are both engineers with a love for outerspace and animals.   When we found out that we were expecting our first baby boy, we started brainstorming names.  It came down to Orion or Noah and Noah won us over.  From that point forward, Noah’s Ark animals became the theme of the room.
We started with room reconstruction to add a door as well as the big pieces including the crib, the glider, and the bookcase which came from our office. After we had the room set up, I started scouting pinterest for DIY ideas as well as Amazon and local stores including Target, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and Homegoods for art and decor. The Summer Infant bedding came from my mother and drove us to the color scheme with shades of Turquoise, Greens, Browns and a hint of Orange. My favorite pieces are the handmade mobile and lights that hangs above the crib, the giraffe stool, the rug, and the canvas art around the room.
Thanks to my husbands family, we were able to fill the bookcase with many of my husband’s family books and his favorite books from his own childhood in Maryland.
I loved designing and putting this room together. My husband melted my heart when he surprised me with the lantern light that dims after I showed him my inspiration pictures found on pinterest.  I hope that our son grows to love it too!
