A design crazed boy mom and pediatric oncology nurse from Memphis, TN. I love running after my toddler Ethan, and I am expecting baby Benjamin in a few short weeks!

Benjamin’s Babe Inspired Nursery

My husband David and I will be welcoming baby boy #2 to the world in late January/early February.¬†I chose to go with a “Babe the Pig” theme, one of my all time favorite movies!
I opted for a crisp ivory color on the walls, with pops of blue and black. I decided to add a little whimsy by adding leaf wall decals for a feature. I am a big fan of contrast, so I love how the colors play off of each other.
My favorite thing about the nursery is the canvas art above the crib. I wanted something fun and bold. We are going to have a lot of fun making precious memories in here!

Horse and Hound Nursery

Ethan’s Horse and Hound Nursery

My husband David and I welcomed a little boy in August of 2016. I like to decorate rooms in a tasteful, yet cozy manner, and the baby room was no exception!¬†We chose to go with a “Horse and Hound” theme. My husband is an outdoors¬†enthusiast, and one of his hobbies is finding quail on horseback with our English Pointers. We love our dogs Molly, Huxley, and Bee, and our horse Clyde…so voila, a theme was born!
I approached the nursery like I do most projects… research, reviews, and inspirational photos (cue Pinterest, Instagram, and Project Nursery galleries). I then put together a design board using the Morpholio app on my phone. While the design evolved as the project progressed, the design board helped me to stay on track with my vision.¬†We opted for a calming, light gray on the walls. I decided to add a little whimsy by painting some metallic gold brush strokes for a feature. It was a risk that I was scared to take, but I am so glad I went for it! I am a big fan of contrast, so I went for a bolder look with the vintage inspired black iron crib and some fun gray and white striped linens.
My favorite thing about the nursery is the crib wall and his little library. The “Velveteen Rabbit” quote above the crib was the reading we chose at our wedding, and I find the message unbelievably heartfelt. The teddy bear in the crib was baby’s first gift, and it came from none other than Daddy himself. The library made me think of my own favorite childhood books. I love snuggling in the rocker with my baby, and reading to him. We are going to have a lot of fun making¬†precious memories in here!
