The puppy sheets from Serena & Lily and the “British Made” vintage sign were the inspiration pieces for this nursery. We wanted to make sure the room was clean and classic, yet still had touches of vintage and modern. The wainscoting and green paint focal was the main source of color, along with the muted rug. The crib and dresser achieved the modern (mid-century) look which are both from the Babyletto Sprout line. We had a lot of empty space under the large windows so we created a DIY window seat/storage moment with Ikea furniture and custom doors!

My goal was to create a nursery that combined traditional elegance with the bohemian/modern styles that I also love. I wanted to focus on a pale blue color to balance out the feminine elements of the space (i.e. the bow shades, floral wallpaper, etc.) The blush and gold accents were then layered in with the hardware, rug and the subtly pale pink ceiling. I wanted to make sure each wall and aspect of the room brought something unique and unexpected. Instead of the traditional glider/rocker, I went with a large and round swivel chair. The ladder is a creative take on the popular “blanket ladders” – instead mine will be used for swaddles. I also wanted to include decor that wasn’t too childish, so that the room is practical for years to come.
