I am super excited to be on the blog today. I’m Christina Christian, lifestyle + entertaining creative director/guest Morning show host out of Midwest, Cincinnati, Ohio. It is baby shower season around here. So, I decided to take you behind the scenes of a real event to peek in on the madness that happens prior to the guest’s arrival and throughout the dat. Let’s get started…
First things first, prior to the day of the event, I plan out every detail from the beginning to the end. That way, once I’m at the venue I can easily unload, unpack, and begin decorating. The table settings usually take most of the time and for this baby shower it most definitely did. Therefore, I began setting the tables immediately once I was in the event space. It can get tricky hanging tassel garland or adding extra details to the decorating design. Which means when styling a larger event, I hire several extra hands to make sure I do not get off schedule since there can be quite a few items I add on the tables. For example, the tables for this baby shower included the full tuxedo paper ware collection (plates, napkins, cups, and wooden flatware) from Soiree by Ria. At the guests of honor’s table, I packaged chocolate and vanilla macarons just for them to make sure they are first to have their favorite dessert before others demolish them!
Next, check out how cute our black + white monochrome themed stationary is! I worked with Party Box Design for the graphics and I printed everything on Tiny Prints https://www.tinyprints.com/baby-shower-invitations.htm. You can see how all of the décor from the personalized pillows, to the canvas signs, and even the water bottles are perfectly decked out in style. Once the bulk of the decorating is complete, I prepared the dessert table and gift tent complete with pretty pink gifts wrapped in Georgette Packaging.
My assistant, Kara, is usually at my side to get me event ready for the guests to arrive and get any pre-event photos in that we can. Then, it’s party time! If my client is up for hosting the event, you bet I step out of the way to let them takeover. That way, I am sharing and posting on social media to keep you up to date with any trendy details I know you’d love to see. You can grab shop all the fabulous items from our shoot.
