Unicorn Birthday Slumber Party

My little girl turned double digits this years , and I styled a Unicorn slumber party for her.
I haven’t seen many unicorn themed slumber parties out there, but hey, it’s a challenge I was more than glad to undertake!
For this unicorn slumber party we chose my daughter’s fave colors: pink and gold! She loves anything that shines, so the gold glitter effect we created on the unicorn printables was just what we needed to add sparkle and shine, without the effort and hassle of having to hand-glitter anything.
I LOVE how the glitter effect turned out and really added a fun touch to the printable decorations!
For the unicorn birthday invitations we couldn’t decide on the designs, so we created two. One with a full unicorn and the other just with the unicorn’s headshot in the hues of pink and blue with dashes of gold glitter. I still can’t pick which I prefer, so we’re offering both styles in the shop too!
For the desserts table backdrop, nothing simpler than a large Unicorn poster, personalized with her name. It really was super easy and inexpensive to print, and you can now find the same at BirdsParty.com.
Plus, the poster can be used in her bedroom as decor after the party! Totally loving it 😍
Since our color palette was pink, blue and gold, we chose to offer ‘midnight snacks’ type of food that matched our color palette, and that the girls could snack on before or after he party as they saw fit.
This was one of the easiest desserts table I have EVER styled, since all the food (except the cake) was shop bought!
We created a stack of pink strawberry and caramel donuts ‘magical donuts’ and decorated it with a printable unicorn cake topper from BirdsParty.com.
We also served ‘magical waffles’ with cream, fruits and all washed down with “unicorn tears” milk so the girls could easily eat them under the magical teepee!

I made the cake myself and designed it with it’s eyes shut to emulate the slumber party element. 😊 You can see the full tutorial here.
For the slumber party essentials, I turned to my talented friend Brenda from Great Stitch to create custom pyjamas/ pajamas that the girls got to wear during the party, and the personalized pillow cases that doubled as party favors too!
Brenda used our designs for the unicorn that matched the printables with the girls’ names on them! I LOVE how it all turned out, so beautiful!!

One of the elements that I really envisioned for this slumber party, was a tee pee all decorated to be the main focus of the slumber area. Full of cushion for a cozy party space that the girls simply adored!
I brainstormed a design with my husband, which had to be easy to make and inexpensive. The full DIY tutorial can be found on my blog here.

The tee pee was also decorated with lots of honeycomb balls and giant balloons with tassels from BirdsParty.fr and flowers to evoke the magical and girly aspect of this unicorn birthday theme! Super easy and eye catching decor, that can’t recommend enough!

In all my parties I like to have some sort of photo booth. In this case, the tee pee itself was the perfect backdrop to capture those special party moments.
So I thought it would be super awesome to make some unicorn headbands and sleeping masks for the girls to wear as photo props, but that also doubled as party favors for them to take home after the party!
My daughter helped me make ALL of them and the DIY tutorials can be found here and here.
We packaged all the DIY gifts and accessories along with some twirl lollipops as the unicorn horns and decorated with unicorn gift tags, mini jars of glitter (unicorn magic) and colored waffles sugar sprinkles into a cute favor bag from BirdsParty.fr and topped the bags with gold sequined ribbon and a cute printable favor tag from our unicorn kit!
It really was a charming party, and super easy to pull off!
