BamboolaBaby

I have an engineering brain and a crafty heart. And I have a huge passion for babies and everything related to pregnancy, natural birth, breastfeeding, babywearing, eco-friendly baby items and nursery design. I don’t like tacky and you will never catch me in any kind of “r us” store. I never get tired of browsing through Esty. I am trying my best to live in an eco-friendly way, opt for sustainable choices whenever possible and I have a recycling OCD. I am a passionate supporter of the handmade market, local shopping and human rights.

I am from Europe and I followed my heart all the way to America. I live with my amazing husband and son in a bilingual household in Jersey City (for New Yorkers: that’s the place on the other side of Hudson River). I am self-employed – occupation: full-time mother. Before I was a SAHM, I worked in construction and design in the UK, and real estate and property management in NYC. Now that feels like a galaxy away. In my “free” time I make handmade baby blankets, organic washcloths and eco-friendly felt decoration.

Green & White Boy Nursery on a budget

I knew I didn’t want a blue room for my son because I am tired or stereotyping. And trust me, if I had a girl, it would still be green and white with pops of other colors, never pink & purple. We have very high ceilings (12′) but the room is rather small, so we went with white walls and used bright colors on accessories, such as curtains, floor mat, table, wall decals etc.
