Princeton’s Regal Nursery

My name is Ashley, and I enjoy your Instagram and website, and wanted to submit my son, Princeton’s, nursery for feature consideration with you!  We had just moved into a new home when we had Princeton, and started working on his nursery. Princeton is my firstborn, and I am an Interior Designer, and have just started to try and get my own little decoring and styling business going! :) The “look” and style of our new home was very different from the house we had just moved from. I still loved a lot of the items I had purchased to decorate our previous home, but knew they would not work in the main living areas of our new space as they did in the old house. I decided to use what I still loved from the previous home, and start planning the look and style of the nursery around those items. My favorite items were the velvet, cobalt blue drapes, so I wanted to make those the main feature of my son’s nursery. We had quite a few of those drapes left so I thought it would be fun to create some kind of draping around his crib as well as use the drapes for his window. After the drapes were up, the vision really started to pull together in my mind. I wanted the nursery to have an overall classic, regal, sophisticated look, but still have a few fun baby boy items, that I knew he would love as he grew and got older. Princeton loves large stuffed animals, so I added a couple of those in the room (he is so obsessed with the tiger :), and also the collection of dinosaurs, I hand-painted and used as centerpieces for his first birthday. I am happy with how is nursery came out, and we did not end up having to purchase many extra items while putting together the room. Princeton loves spending time in his nursery, and I like to think a part of it has to do with the aesthetic that was put together for him:)
