Classic Oxford Nursery

We picked our home office to turn into the nursery instead of a bigger space, like one of our guest bedrooms. We wanted the nursery to be right next to the master and knew we would have to work with a somewhat small space. I, personally, wanted to create a magical perspective on the natural world for our baby boy. I’ve never been big into blue/pink/koala bears/princesses and other cheesy baby decors. On the other hand, I’ve always been obsessed with preppy looks and old-world style. Nothing like the antic, cozy, and warm library feel of a very old house or manoir, but of course, we wanted the room to still be a fun and bright space for a very young kid. The nursery is filled with gentle but vibrant tones and soft, natural textures such as linen and cashmere fabrics with classic & timeless plaid & tartan as well as pieces of furniture that baby boy won’t outgrow in a few months and can keep for a long time. The wall art and different pieces have been carefully curated to tell my future little knight the most extraordinary stories!

Eclectic Boho Toddler Bedroom

I dreamed of having a daughter. I dreamed of all the tiny little girly things and special mommy daughter moments we would share. I dreamed of designing her nursery and then getting to know her and designing her first big girl room.
This is Charleigh’s room. It is perfectly her, a mix of girly, wild, natural, and whimsical. Charleigh is not a dainty little toddler, she’s a wild flower. She’s all over the place-climbing, running, jumping-but she just may be doing all of these things in a tutu. As you can see from her room, she is an eclectic mix of many things as is her happy boho space with lots of storage, hangout spots, and the ability to climb on and off of her custom modified daybed.

Modern Whimsical Nursery for Baby Girl

We moved into our new house about a year and a half ago and left this room untouched, assuming it would eventually be for baby #2.
So as soon as I found out we were having a girl (our first is a boy), I immediately got to work brainstorming up a space that would be fun, imaginative, and a little bit girly — but could still grow with her throughout the years.
I repainted the grey walls a pale pink (Behr “Illuminated”), and since I’m averse to too much color, I wanted everything else in the room to feel neutral, light and airy — so I stuck to a palette of whites and creams and added texture with pillows, blankets, and acrylic pieces.
In terms of statement pieces, I installed a beautiful chandelier from Serena & Lily and chose an acrylic dollhouse floor bookcase, which not only holds a bunch of books and toys, but can also be used as an actual dollhouse when she gets older.
The result is a soft, feminine nursery that’s still modern and fits nicely with the rest of our home. I absolutely love it.

World Map Nursery

When I started thinking about a nursery I knew I wanted it to be bold.  No pastels, no theme, no Winnie the Pooh (as much as I love The House on Pooh Corner.)  My husband and I love to travel.  Whether it is a quick weekend getaway or a three-week European adventure.  We love to experience other cultures and learn about the world first hand.  I came across the world map mural on Amazon one random day and immediately fell in love.  It’s bold, it’s big and it can be used to teach our child about the world.  Everything else in the room fell into place.  Since the map had so much color we chose to use white and gray for the crib, dresser and chair.  On our trip to IKEA I surprised myself in picking out the bight green shelving unit in the closet.

World Map / Travel Inspired Nursery

An inspiring space for our little man to grow and share our passion for travel!!
I didn’t want a nursery that said baby all over… I wanted a place that mom and dad could enjoy together with out little man.
That’s why we decided to do a nursery inspired in world travel, and incorporate all types of transportation.
We hope our baby will grow knowing what a beautiful world we can see together!!

Colorful Circus Gender Neutral Nursery

We worked on a budget and DIY most of the elements, the room that we started with did not have lights besides a very small one right next to the entry door, so my husband and father-in-law worked on adding can lights, book shelves and closet. I was in charge of the smaller projects being my first ones the elephant lamp along with the “K” light. The most meaningful project has to be the bathroom door, I painted a section of North America and South America and added hearts to where Santiago, Chile  and California, USA are so we can show our little baby Peanut where Mom and Dad are from =]
The very last project I worked on for the room was the cardboard name sign on top of the crib, since we didn’t know the sex of our Baby, I waited until after delivery, I had already set a side a big box that I was planning on using, but that same week I had planned to start with the sign my Cousin send us the tall giraffe, so I used that box instead, which allowed me to make the sign a lot bigger than my initial plan.

Vintage/Modern Nursery

Owen’s nursery is a mix of vintage and modern pieces. We incorporated as many meaningful items into the space as possible.  His father and I had a great time putting together the room.  (I did the planning, he did the work! ha) Not really,  Momma helped as much as she could too. Many DIY projects were completed to add a special touch to the space, including converting an IKEA chair into a rocker/glider, DIY shelves, embroidered artwork, DIY curtains, and a few other projects.

Collin’s Nursery

We didn’t have nine months to create a nursery for Collin, as we only found out two days before Collin was born, that we had been picked by his birthmom to adopt.  We took him home to an empty nursery.  We had the necessities but no cute room to bring him home too. But it was fun to create Collin’s nursery during those first few months of his life.  We went through a lot of years of infertility, loss and heartache trying to start our little family.  That all went away when we held our little boy for the first time.  For me the room captures that feeling of holding him the first time.  It makes me happy and I always feel peaceful while in his room.
