I enjoyed decorating my son’s nursery… besides all the kicking, this project was a very fun experience through out my entire pregnancy! When I found out I was having a boy, I decided to stick to traditional colors. I simply love blue; it is a calming color for a nursery… and I have no regrets, it came out super cute!!!
My husband and I wanted a unique, gender-neutral nursery that you couldn’t find at any baby store. My husband has a quirky fondness for garden gnomes so that was the original inspiration. Then along came the trees, birds, foxes and toadstools that created the rest of Kate’s Enchanted Forest.
Teddy’s nursery took about 7 months to complete, which is unheard of for me, as I make decisions on the fly and want things done yesterday. Because we ordered a brand new line of furniture, there were some delays in getting it (on the manufacturer’s end)– add that to the several months that it took for me to decide what to do with his wall letters, and you arrive at the 7 month completion date for this nursery. In spite of how long it took, we are really happy with the result.
This diy nursery is centered around a bird and owl theme, with a touch of some whimsical elements.
We wanted a modern/traditional nursery that would grow with our first baby. We mixed patterns and colors for a child friendly room that can be soothing and playful at the same time.
I am super excited to announce that the nursery is complete! It is exactly what I imagined in my head. I love going in there, sitting in the rocking chair and just looking at the room, thinking of what is to come! Here is the nursery for our sweet baby girl:
This is my daughter’s room and my first room project I’ve ever planned.
I wanted a happy, fun and neutral room for our soon-to-be born twins. The bright orange color on the feature wall makes me smile every time I walk into the room. Dad and grandpa painted the room a few months ago, and the rest of the nursery came together slowly since then. All the furniture is neutral-black, white or grey, and other than the cribs, can be used in other rooms in our house once the twins are older. The biggest splurge was the chair. I opted not to go for a rocker/glider, so that we can use it in our basement family room later. Also, the chair is big and deep enough for me to doze in since there was no room for a day bed in this small room.
