Nia’s First Birthday!!
I wanted to create a nursery that was delicate and girly.
The shape and size of the room was the biggest challenge, especially that it didn’t have any closets or space for storage. Once we settled on the custom designed bed with built-in closets and storage space, it all fell into place.
The customer had already purchased some beautiful items and needed some help pulling them all together. She had acquired a decorative scroll hanging that she had hung over the bed, and rather than take it down we decided I should paint around it and that it should become part of the design. The result was a unique three dimensional edge to my decorative cartouche. Elegant Rose vines grace many corners of the room as well as around the cartouche.
I wanted to create a room that reflected the pastel colors of my childhood. There is something so calming and endearing about pastel pink. However, I AM a modern girl and I wanted a more contemporary look so I incorporated gray as an accent color and balanced the two colors with pops of white in the furniture and varying elements of nature.

We wanted our little girl to have a room she would feel happy in. I fell in love with her crib because of the floral scrolling.. we found the most beautiful antique dresser at an estate and my husband lovingly restored it. After Lily was born, her wonderful aunt painted a self portrait of her and gave it to her as a gift.
While only a few days old, little Maggie is already a Daddy’s girl. The sweet hand painted roses by Dad set the tone for this loving, shabby-chic, cottage style nursery dreamt up by Mom!
