So when dreaming up the Valentine’s Party – what better than a Rockstar Theme! What kid doesn’t love guitars, bright colors and loud music. The uber talented and so sweet, Paula of Frog Prince Paperie was kind enough to design the most gorgeous {Love Rocks}Valentine’s Printables Collection for the party. The girl has mad design skills and totally showed her inner Rocker! Paula also designed the most adorable {Valentine’s}and {Coloring Pages}! Piggy Bank Parties designed the most amazing {Backstage Entrance Sign} that we used so the kids could {Rock Out & Jam} with their guitars. It was a blast seeing the talent – they are definitely future Rock Stars in the making! Piggy Bank Parties also made this adorable {LOVE ROCKS Banner}and {Favor Envleopes}! As soon as I saw these {Mini Gable Boxes} that Pam of Party Starters is using this year, I knew they would be absolutely perfect for the {Love Rocks} Valentine’s Party! She was so wonderful to coordinate them to match the fabulous designs by Frog Prince Paperie. The {Dessert Table} featured sweets from some seriously talented women! Above the table, we hung {DIY guitars}that ended up being great fun later in the party! {Rockin’ Cupcakes} courtesy of Kari of Retro Bakery and the AMAZING {Tini Banners} courtesy of Do of the fabulous Piggy Bank Parties. Fell in love with these {Mini Doughnuts} from Nicole of Dough-a-Deer! The kids loved drinking Crush through the doughnuts! As a southern girl, I believe children should write thank yous. The kids love the {Custom Love Rocks} tattoos by Ali of Buttonhead!

Rockin’ 1st Birthday Party

A Rockin’ 1st birthday for my little Rockstar! The theme was inspired by my father and brother who are both musicians, the invitations were printed on a high gloss paper to resemble a flyer-type ticket. VIP passes were made for each little Rockstar along with a custom rocker placemat. A homemade amplifer was made out of a tool box, my husband had me take out the $400 drills before heading to the party! Assortments of rocking candies were on display such as Rock Candy, Pop Rocks & Drumstick Lollipops. Oriental Trade had a great selection of inflatable guitars, perfect for the summertime and 80’s style shades for all to enjoy! I accented the party with a checkered wrapping paper around the tables and glass jars along with ‘You Rock’ pics and photos from each month 0-12 for the birthday boy. Custom cupcake toppers were scattered around the tables and the guitar cake made by Patty’s Cake added the perfect touch! The ‘Rockstar’ sign was a Target find on clearance. The birthday boy rocked out to a jam session of ‘Happy Birthday to You’ from his papa and uncle. This was a great party for the modern-rocker mommy and baby on a budget! Eli’s Rockin’ Party

My husband is a musician, so when we had little Elijah it was just assumed that we would have a little rockstar on our hands… We wanted to create an epic 1st birthday to show how much joy he’s added to our life. We started with concert tickets (from amazon.com) for the invites. The decor was so much fun. We had a red carpet (of course!) for the guests to walk up when they arrived. What hoppin’ club doesnt have a few bouncers?? My husband (AKA security) stood at the front door, where the kids received their backstage passes and their names were crossed off the VIP list… The rooms were filled with balloons, red, purple, and zebra everything. As far as food went we went very simple- pizza, fruit, and salad. We made cupcakes for all 60 guests with some really fun toppers. I made the birthday boy his own guitar cake which he loved. He wore his hair in a mohawk, red shirt, vest, skinny jeans, converse, and (drum roll please…) little baby tattoo sleeves! We have such an easy going group of friends there wasn’t much need for activities. We did play “rock trivia” and the winner won an iTunes gift card. It was so much fun and such a perfect way to celebrate a true rockstar!!
