I had a lot of ideas for the nursery and tried to incorporate them all. I knew I didn’t want a quote on quote “baby’s room” and wanted it to be a little more grown up. So I gathered safari animals and paired them with a chevron print to create Rory’s room.
A 60-70s themed room. Cozy, colorful, and custom.
A nursery inspired by the times of the renaissance in Italy.
Mark’s playful nursery
A nursery with oversized pattern cascading down the crib wall and behind the rocker. Lots of visual pop with all the patterns going on in the room.
This nursery was an absolute work of love by my mom. She is a DIY queen and the result is a room that is completely DIY, hand-me-down or re-purposed. The only thing bought was the bookshelf.
A small but colorful and fun space for my daughter, Vera, to grow into. This room was created on a tight budget, but I love how it turned out. Not a typical little girl’s nursery. All sources (including paint colors) and links for this room are listed on my blog: http://designingdawn.com/nursery-sources/
A Rockin’ 1st birthday for my little Rockstar! The theme was inspired by my father and brother who are both musicians, the invitations were printed on a high gloss paper to resemble a flyer-type ticket. VIP passes were made for each little Rockstar along with a custom rocker placemat. A homemade amplifer was made out of a tool box, my husband had me take out the $400 drills before heading to the party! Assortments of rocking candies were on display such as Rock Candy, Pop Rocks & Drumstick Lollipops. Oriental Trade had a great selection of inflatable guitars, perfect for the summertime and 80’s style shades for all to enjoy! I accented the party with a checkered wrapping paper around the tables and glass jars along with ‘You Rock’ pics and photos from each month 0-12 for the birthday boy. Custom cupcake toppers were scattered around the tables and the guitar cake made by Patty’s Cake added the perfect touch! The ‘Rockstar’ sign was a Target find on clearance. The birthday boy rocked out to a jam session of ‘Happy Birthday to You’ from his papa and uncle. This was a great party for the modern-rocker mommy and baby on a budget! From ghost chair to damask wall decals, a little glam goes a long way. Soft shades of white and yellow accented with some of the most current design trends makes for an ultra stylish nursery. Project Nursery loves nothing more than a little glamour in any girls room!
Mom’s take note! Aidan’s mom sure did from cool sites and online nursery inspiration. Her selections are brilliant and we are so grateful that she shared the end result: A refreshing, beautiful and contemporary nursery!
The other week we showcased H’s (all boy) playtime nursery. H’s adoptive family also knew they would be welcoming H’s biological sister shortly there after. Without knowing the sex, they turned to cool, gender neutral crib bedding for inspiration.
