Cactus Dreams Nursery

I wanted to create a space for our first baby (it’s a girl!) that we would love spending time in. A room that would be cozy and cute for our little one. I love that this room has a touch of modern and boho but is still girly and unique. It incorporates all of my favorite design styles! The walls in this room were already painted a light pink from our home’s previous owners. I wanted to do an accent wall so we painted one wall white and added the Lucca Cactus Wall Decals! I am obsessed with how it turned out and just one set of the decals was the perfect amount for the accent wall. Plus they were super easy to apply! Although the decals are probably my favorite aspect of the room, I also love the Nyla Changing Basket (and knew I wanted a changing basket versus a changing pad from the moment I started getting inspiration for a nursery) and the sweet canopy that will create a fun reading nook for when our girl is a bit older. We can’t wait for our little girl to be here and know that she will love this room as much as we do!

Owl You Need is Love

After our 4 day old son died in 2014, I still wanted to incorporate the baby furniture and sage green color we were going to use for our son’s nursery with our newborn daughter’s room. To make it more feminine, I chose pink as an accent color and incorporated the theme of owls and birds with the crib, pictures and decor.
I love incorporating different patterns and textures together, so I took the patterns that were in the Pottery Barn Kids quilt and used them throughout the nursery–pink gingham, sage green polka dots and brown polka dots. I also used minky fabric in sage green and pink that incorporated a “dot” texture as well.
And yes, that is a freezer you see in the picture!  Didn’t have room to put it anywhere else, so my Mom made a cover for it.  She also made the owls and the crib rail cover. ;)
