Hello kitty

This fun Valentine’s Day party was a super cute, Hello Kitty inspired bash!

Tried to create a long lasting room that wouldn’t need to be changed later on. Wanted it to be colorful but not too crazy so just stuck to a few basic colors.  Didn’t spend too much, stenciled the wall with a homemade stencil and made the seat for the bench.
 
(My camera is pretty bad and making a foggy circle in some of the pictures or a blur around the sides… just a really bad camera)

This is Lucy’s Whimsical Escape filled with both vintage and new things.  Things from her father’s childhood and her mothers childhood.

My daughter loves Hello Kitty and wanted a Hello Kitty party.  Since I am not a big fan of character parties I had to find a way to make this happen.  I went with the colors pink, yellow, and black and white polka dot and added a friendship theme to it.

My husband and I started turning this room into a nursery just a few weeks before we even found out we were pregnant. It was in the midst of installing the chair rail when we found out we were expecting. We had already gone with the Balmy Seas blue for the walls, thinking it was a neutral shade that could go either way. I always loved this color paired with feminine tones, so I was hoping our little bean would end up being a girl. Luckily, she did! After we found out we were having a girl, it was on to start decorating. We were on a budget, so I knew I would have to be creative to achieve the look I was envisioning. I fell in love with the “Love Bird” bedding by Bananafish, even though it was a little pricey. However, I splurged on it and I let the beautiful print of the bedding set the tone for the Garden Party inspired theme I was envisioning. I also wanted to infuse Flea Market style pieces into her room, so many of the things you see in her nursery were picked up at flea markets or antique shops. I had a great time repurposing!

My client wanted to bring back the classic Hello Kitty design. Her daughter favorite color is red so it was a great combination to use to create a magical environment. Everything was made from scratch (yes everything) and with a lot of love and patients it all came together.

What little girl wouldn’t love to have her own gorgeous, Tea Shoppe with the most amazing cakes, cupcakes, cookies and sweet treats on her birthday? I know mine would!! :)
